Eagles' Chip Kelly: 'Evan Mathis has been available for trade for 2 years'

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly spent a big chunk of his day Thursday and Friday denying reports he had offered up players in exchange for the No. 2 overall selection in the draft.

Kelly changed his tune on Saturday, telling reporters there's a player on his team that's been on the trade block for quite some time.

"Evan Mathis has been available for trade for two years and there have been no offers," Kelly said.

The two-time Pro Bowl guard hasn't hid is desire to be moved. He wants a pay raise and the Eagles don't appear interested in giving him one.

Due to earn $5.5 million as a 34-year-old, Mathis hasn't attended voluntary workouts this spring and the two sides seem destined to part ways sometime in the near future.

As long as it continues to look like the Eagles could release Mathis at any time, it's tough to imagine any team offering much on the trade market.

Mathis took to Twitter not long after the report came down, seemingly to issue a vulgar response to Kelly's comments.
