The Cleveland Browns have selected cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu out of Oregon in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

Ekpre-Olomu tore his ACL in December, causing him to tumble down draft boards.

He posted nine interceptions over the last three years and there is no rush for the Browns to get him back on the field because Cleveland is deep at the corner position.

Ifo Ekpre-Olomu Bio

Position: CB
School: Oregon
College Experience: Senior
Height: 5-9
Weight: 192 lbs.
Age: 21

Combine Results

Ekpre-Olomu was unable to participate in the combine and Oregon's pro day because of a torn ACL sustained in December.

Strengths

  • Extremely productive in three seasons with Oregon, tallying nine interceptions. Has massive upside and a higher ceiling than most players likely to be selected outside the first round.
  • Competitive press defender and has excellent awareness in a zone scheme. Could be ideal nickel fit right away while developing outside technique.
  • Has a nose for the ball and tracks very well. Can also tackle and contribute on special teams.

Weaknesses

  • Torn ACL suffered in December will most likely cause him to miss OTAs and training camp. Could ultimately cost him his rookie season.
  • Lacks size, and without measurables to gauge speed and strength, teams will have to rely on his film to make sure he ticks the necessary boxes.
  • Has not demonstrated ability to recover when beat by bigger receivers deep.
