The Detroit Lions have brought guard Laken Tomlinson into the fold with the 28th pick of the 2015 NFL Draft.

Tomlinson, a Duke product, was slowly moving his way up boards leading up to the draft and many felt he was one of the best guards available.

The Lions added guard Manny Ramirez from the Denver Broncos earlier in the night in a trade, giving Detroit a major upgrade in the middle of its offensive line.

Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson lead a Lions offense that loves to throw the football, and it's clear team brass made it a priority to boost their protection in order to allow them to do so with more efficiency.
