The Miami Dolphins made an addition to their defensive backfield Monday, signing free-agent cornerback Zack Bowman.

Having spent time with both the Chicago Bears and New York Giants over the course his seven-year career, Bowman brings some veteran experience to the back end of the Dolphins' defense.

Barring another addition to the group early on in the upcoming draft, the 30-year-old should compete for a role in nickel packages behind projected starters Brent Grimes and Jamar Taylor.

Bowman was active in all 16 games for the Giants in 2014, recording two interceptions and 24 total tackles.
