The Kansas City Chiefs have selected linebacker Ramik Wilson out of Georgia in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, using the 118th overall pick.

The Chiefs have been one of the top teams at the outside linebacker position in recent years thanks to strong play from Tamba Hali and Justin Houston. Wilson figures to get great mentoring from those two.

Strengths

  • Strong frame and build make him a good fit as an outside linebacker in a 4-3 or an inside linebacker in any scheme.
  • Has the ability to contribute as a downhill force against the running game as well playing sideline to sideline. [NFL.com]
  • Reads and reacts to plays in the middle of the field, showing impressive burst in pursuit. [CBS]

Weaknesses

  • Test scores will raise some concerns about his overall athletic ability, particularly his change-of-direction skills and short-area quickness.
  • Doesn't play with a consistent level of physicality and has questions to answer about his ability to hold up in pass coverage. [NFL.com]
  • Will need to play with more strength at the point of attack and improve his ability to disengage from blocks. [CBS]
