Free-agent linebacker Lance Briggs told ESPN's Vaughn McClure that he has a visit scheduled with the San Francisco 49ers for Monday.
The 49ers have a big need at linebacker following the retirement of Patrick Willis and Chris Borland.
Briggs, a native of Elk Grove, Calif., has spent his entire 12-year NFL career with the Chicago Bears. He was limited to eight games last season because of a groin injury, but said he strongly believes he can still perform at an elite level.
The 34-year-old has 940 tackles, 15 sacks and 16 interceptions in 173 career games, including 170 starts.
