Report: Terrence Cody's arraignment for animal cruelty, drug charges cancelled

Thomas Campbell / US PRESSWIRE

Former Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Terrence Cody's arraignment on felony animal cruelty and misdemeanor drug charges has been cancelled upon hiring an attorney, according to Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun

Cody was scheduled to be arraigned Monday but hired attorney Joe Murtha.

After hiring Murtha, Baltimore County assistant state's attorney Adam Lippe said the cancellation of the arraignment was standard practice, and a new court date will be assigned shortly.

The 26-year-old was arrested on February 2 and was promptly released by the Ravens after allegedly killing his dog and illegally importing an alligator into the state of Maryland.

Cody was also charged with possession of over 10 grams of marijuana, and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia.
