The New York Giants released center J.D. Walton on Monday.
Walton started all 16 games for the Giants, and the team will need to address the vacancy in the offseason.
Weston Richburg is widely expected to take over at center, and the team signed Brett Jones from the CFL's Calgary Stampeders on Feb. 11.
Richburg played at left guard last season.
