Demaryius Thomas: Broncos Will Use Tag, If Necessary

Broncos general manager John Elway said Thursday that the team will use its franchise tag on Thomas, if the two sides are unable reach a long-term agreement before the March 2 deadline for the tag, USA Today's Lindsay Jones reports.

Analysis:

Elway confirmed what was already known, as its nearly unthinkable that the Broncos would allow Thomas to get away. Of course, hammering out an agreement could still take some time, and Thomas may not want to participate in team activities without a multi-year contract.
