Evan Dietrich-Smith criticizes Buccaneers for lack of direction

Evan Dietrich-Smith had grown accustomed to winning prior to joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Dietrich-Smith spent the previous four seasons with the Green Bay Packers, so when the Buccaneers stumbled to a league-worst 2-14 record, it was unfamiliar territory for the 28-year-old.

The Buccaneers offensive lineman spoke about his team's lack of organization Monday.

"We were really trying to find ourselves all year, and I don't think we ever really got a foothold on that. It's tough," Dietrich-Smith said on SiriusXM NFL radio. "It's like somebody gave you a box, and the box was full of things, with a picture on the side like a kids' toy set.

"And then you open the box and there's no directions and they tell you to put it together. That's kind of how it was. We were sitting back and staring and we never really got it quite right."

Although Tampa Bay boasted an excellent wide receiver duo in Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson, the offense lacked any real cohesion and the Buccaneers sunk to the bottom of a historically awful NFC South.

Dietrich-Smith won a Super Bowl ring with the Packers in 2010.
