Tom Brady has a cold

Matthew Emmons / USA TODAY Sports

It's Super Bowl week, which means the level of scrutiny around the NFL's final two teams couldn't be higher. Small details that would otherwise pass by unnoticed become front-page news.

Like this: Tom Brady has a cold.

The New England Patriots passer addressed the media Wednesday and was noticeably under the weather

Brady said his wife and children are sick and he brought the virus with him to Arizona, but insisted he'll be 100 percent by kickoff on Sunday.

He certainly seemed fine Wednesday, taking every snap in practice

It's impossible to imagine a cold, or even a more significant viral illness, keeping Brady off the field with a Super Bowl title on the line. It's plausible his play will be affected if he can't get healthy before the big game, but we're still several days away from those alarm bells going off.
