Report: Raiders hire Todd Downing as QB coach

The Oakland Raiders have hired Todd Downing as their next quarterbacks coach, his agent Ken Sarnoff announced Thursday.
Prior to working as the Buffalo Bills' quarterbacks coach in 2014, Downing held the same role with the Detroit Lions for three seasons, overseeing the development of Matthew Stafford.
The Raiders will hope that Downing can have similar success with young quarterback Derek Carr, as his continued progression is imperative for the team to be successful going forward.
