Bears' Willie Young tears Achilles tendon vs. Lions

Chicago Bears defensive end Willie Young was diagnosed with a torn Achilles tendon following a 20-14 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

Young went down in the second quarter and was unable to put any weight on his foot as he was helped from the field. He had 10 sacks on the season.

In a walking boot after the game, Young avoided talking about the injury, telling reporters, "If it’s on my left side of my body, don’t ask about it …(The right side of my body) feels like a million bucks."

The former Lion will have a long four- to six-month recovery ahead of him in the offseason. He signed a three-year, $9 million deal with the Bears in March.
