Per the Chargers' official site, Mathews' status for Saturday's game against the 49ers is unclear at this stage. If Mathews is out again this weekend, or limited, Branden Oliver and Donald Brown would be in line to see added work in the Chargers' Week 16 backfield, along with Ronnie Brown to a lesser extent.
