Report: Browns among 15 NFL teams interested in Alouettes' Duron Carter

The Cleveland Browns reportedly plan to work out wide receiver Duron Carter now that his contract with the CFL's Montreal Alouettes is expired, and they aren't alone.

As many as 15 teams have shown interest in Carter, according to his agent Mitch Frankel. Carter's contract expired Monday and he is free to take visits from NFL teams, but Frankel tells CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora his client may decide to hold a pro day early in 2015 to allow time for his body to heal from a long season with Montreal.

The Indianapolis Colts, Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers are among the teams that are very interested in Carter, according to La Canfora's report.

Carter was one of three CFL receivers to reach the 1,000 receiving-yard plateau in 2014 and recorded an impressive 909 receiving yards as part of a shortened rookie season. The 23-year-old has 12 touchdown catches in his pro career and also returned a missed field goal 122 yards for a touchdown in August.

Interested NFL teams will need to wait until February to sign Carter.
