Brady unwilling to hype Patriots vs. Packers as possible Super Bowl preview

The New England Patriots-Green Bay Packers Week 13 matchup is already being hyped as a potential Super Bowl preview. However, Tom Brady isn't about to lose sight of the rest of the season.

"We are so far from (the Super Bowl)," Brady said during his weekly interview on the "Dennis and Callahan" radio show. "We have so many games (left). If we are lucky enough to make it there, no one ever cares who we play. But, that's so far down the road. We think about the one game we have ahead of us, which is a good opponent."

Brady, his cautious, calculating self, was unwilling to pat the Patriots on the back, even though they've won a league-best seven straight games and boast the NFL's top scoring offense.

"We have nine wins. We've done a good job getting ourselves to this position," Brady said. "This is when the weather turns, the mental toughness, the discipline, how much we've improved really comes into play."

He went on to praise the Packers, who are undefeated at Lambeau Field this season (5-0). "We have our work cut out for us (against Green Bay)," Brady said. "They have a great offense, a great defense. They do a lot of things defensively that are a challenge for us."

On the other side of the equation, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said last week that with his team playing well, he doesn't believe in peaking too early.

"I don’t even know what that means,” Rodgers told the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “We’re just playing well right now. I don’t believe in peaking early."

If this isn't a Super Bowl preview, it's at least a matchup of two of the most polished, media savvy quarterbacks in the league. Enjoy it, America.
