Demaryius Thomas leads Broncos over Dolphins in thriller

The Denver Broncos rallied from an 11-point deficit to edge the Miami Dolphins 39-36 on Sunday.

Demaryius Thomas caught three touchdown passes as the Broncos moved to 8-3 with the victory and remain undefeated at home. Miami dropped to 6-5 with the loss and will have to claw back into the AFC playoff race.

Peyton Manning was clinical, going 28-of-35 for 257 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions.

Here's what you need to know:

  • Miami opened the scoring on the first drive of the game on a three-yard touchdown run by Daniel Thomas.
  • Demaryius Thomas had an outstanding game for the Broncos, scoring two second-quarter touchdowns, cutting the Dolphins' halftime lead to 21-17. Thomas caught 10 passes for 87 yards and three touchdowns.
  • Jarvis Landry scored on a five-yard touchdown pass, extending the Dolphins lead to 28-17 in the third quarter. Landry led the Dolphins with seven catches, 50 yards and two touchdowns.
  • Thomas's third touchdown reception of the game cut the Dolphins lead to 28-25 after the Broncos succeeded on a two-point conversion.
  • C.J. Anderson gave the Broncos the lead in the fourth quarter, scoring on a 10-yard touchdown run with 5:01 remaining.
  • The Dolphins had a chance to regain the lead, but Tannehill's pass ricocheted off Landry into the arms of Broncos safety T.J. Ward. Ward returned to the ball to the Dolphins' 8-yard line and two plays later, Wes Welker caught a 2-yard touchdown pass.
  • Tannehill found Landry for his second touchdown reception of the game with 1:34 left in the fourth quarter and the Dolphins converted a two-point conversion, cutting the Broncos lead to 39-36. However, Miami couldn't recover an onside kick and Denver held on for the three-point victory.
  • Tannehill went 26-of-36 for 228 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. The Dolphins' quarterback played well, but failed to execute late in the fourth quarter.
