- TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - No. 2 Alabama can secure a spot in the SEC championship game and remain in playoff contention if it beats No. 15 Auburn in the Iron Bowl. Game starts 7:45 p.m.
- TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - No. 1 Florida State hosts Florida with a chance to complete a second consecutive undefeated season. Fired coach Will Muschamp leads the Gators one final time. Game starts 3:30 p.m.
- OXFORD, Miss. - No. 4 Mississippi State plays at No. 18 Mississippi in the Egg Bowl. The Bulldogs must win to have a chance at the SEC Western Division title. Game starts 3:30 p.m.
- Other key college football games: No. 3 Oregon vs. Oregon State (8 p.m.); No. 5 Baylor vs. Texas Tech (3:30 p.m.); No. 7 Ohio State vs. Michigan (noon); No. 8 Georgia vs. No. 16 Georgia Tech (noon).
- The New England Patriots play the Packers in Green Bay on Sunday, a showdown between two potent offenses in what may well be a test of wills of coaches Bill Belichick and Mike McCarthy.
- PHILADELPHIA - The 76ers are 0-15 and can move closer to the worst start in NBA history when they play a Dallas Mavericks team that is 12-5. Game starts 7 p.m.
- FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New York Red Bulls visit the New England Revolution in the second game of a total goals Eastern Conference final. The Revolution won the first game 2-1. Game starts 3 p.m.
- ASPEN, Colo. - Mikaela Shiffrin and Austria's Anna Fenninger are among the favorites in a World Cup giant slalom. The two shared a GS victory last month in a season opener in Austria. Second run starts 3 p.m.
- OSAKA, Japan - Olympic champion Yuzuru Hanyu of Japan finishes fourth at the NHK Trophy, barely qualifying for next month's Grand Prix Final. Countryman Daisuke Murakami is the winner.
- BOSTON - Boston is bidding for the 2024 Summer Olympics, with the crux of its proposal a walkable, sustainable, tech-based event that would harness the resources of the area's 100 colleges.
- SYDNEY - Jordan Spieth, Greg Chalmers and Brett Rumford share the lead after three rounds at the wind-swept Australian Open.
- SYDNEY - With Australian cricket in mourning over Phil Hughes' death, the upcoming test against India is postponed. No new date is set.
