Report: Blount expected to be active for Patriots vs. Lions

Five days after being released by the Pittsburgh Steelers, running back LeGarrette Blount will suit up for the New England Patriots, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The Patriots are apparently not easing the troubled running back into the offense, as the backfield is expected to be a time share between Jonas Gray, Blount, and Shane Vereen.

Blount was run out of Pittsburgh this week after he left the field early in the Steelers' win Monday night over the Tennessee Titans. He's returning to New England after playing one season with them in 2013, racking up 772 yards and seven touchdowns.
