Cowboys' Romo did not practice Thursday

As expected, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo did not participate in practice on Thursday.

Romo injured his back during the third quarter of Monday night's loss to the Washington Redskins and, although he was able to return late in the fourth quarter, the Cowboys weren't able to muster any late offense.

Romo's current back injury is said to be unrelated to his pre-existing issue from last season and the Cowboys are still hopeful that he will be able to suit up on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.

“As much as anything else, it’s being able to handle the pain to the point where he can function and do his job,” head coach Jason Garrett told the team's official website. “And that’s where we are and we’ll see how he does over the next few days to answer that question.”
