The San Diego Chargers' running back depth is beginning to improve.
Donald Brown returned to practice for the first time since suffering a concussion against the New York Jets on Oct. 5.
Brown was slated to become the team's starter after Ryan Mathews and Danny Woodhead went down with long-term injuries.
The sixth-year pro has struggled this season, running for 126 yards on 59 carries averaging out to an abysmal 2.1 yards per carry.
San Diego plays the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
