Giants' Jon Beason's toe injury could end his season

New York Giants linebacker Jon Beason has been bothered by a toe injury since OTAs and it may finally be time for him to shut things down for the season.

Beason went on WFAN radio Monday and indicated he is considering sitting out the rest of the year to correct the issue.

"Right now I'd say it's 50-50 if the smart thing is to get it fixed and get ready for next season," Beason said, as relayed by Ebenezer Samuel of the New York Daily News.

He added that he's playing without a ligament in his big toe and that's what is causing him pain.

Beason saw a foot specialist this week and will find out if he needs surgery on Wednesday.
