Lions stun Saints in come-from-behind victory

Quarterback Matthew Stafford hooked up with wide receiver Corey Fuller on a 5-yard touchdown with 1:22 left in the fourth quarter to propel the Detroit Lions to a thrilling 24-23 come-from-behind victory over the New Orleans Saints.

Here's what you need to know:

  • The game-winning score was the first touchdown of Fuller's career. He finished with three receptions for 44 yards.
  • Stafford had a typical Stafford game, alternating between spectacular and ordinary in a very Jekyll-and-Hyde performance. He finished 27-of-40 for 299 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions.
  • Lions wide receiver Golden Tate had a monster game in Calvin Johnson's absence, racking up 10 receptions for 154 yards and a touchdown. His 73-yard catch-and-run TD in the fourth quarter pulled the Lions within six.
  • Saints superstar pivot Drew Brees started slow, but picked up steam in the second half, finishing the game with 342 yards passing, two touchdowns, and an interception. Unfortunately for Brees, his interception came with 3:20 left in the fourth quarter, and led directly to the Lions' game-winning drive.
  • The Saints had a pair of 100-yard receiver performances, with Marques Colston notching six receptions for 11 yards, and Kenny Stills hauling in five passes for 103 yards and a touchdown.
  • The Saints have now lost seven consecutive road games for the first time since 1998-99, when they dropped 14 straight.
