Report: Raiders fire head coach Dennis Allen

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Oakland Raiders have fired head coach Dennis Allen, according to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer

The Raiders are 0-4 on the season, scoring a league-low 51 points so far.

The news of Allen's firing - by phone, according to NFL's network Ian Rapoport - should come as no surprise, as the Raiders struggled to find any kind of success during his tenure, posting a putrid 8-28 record over his two-plus years at the helm.

A 38-14 loss to a very ordinary Miami Dolphins team Sunday in London, England may have been the final nail in Allen's coaching coffin.

The Raiders have turned into a coaching graveyard of sorts, with the team running through seven coaches since Jon Gruden left for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following the 2001 season.

Sparano reportedly won't be the interim head coach, according to CSN Bay Area's Fallon Smith

Offensive coordinator Greg Olson is an option, tweets ESPN's Adam Schefter, and ESPN's Ed Werder also throws senior offensive assistant Al Saunders' name into the mix, though Allen's replacement in the short term is "undetermined for now," Schefter adds.
