Ravens' Justin Forsett says he almost quit football

Life is pretty good right now for Baltimore Ravens running back Justin Forsett.

The seventh-year pro has been an integral part of a depleted Ravens offense, helping the team jump to a 3-1 start.

Forsett's NFL career hasn't always been glamorous, though, and the 28-year-old running back took some time to reflect on his career Sunday.

"After all the experiences I had in my career, being hurt last year, being on the bottom of the depth chart, I didn't know if I was ever going to play the game again," Forsett told the Baltimore Sun.

"I started looking at other careers. I like player development and I'm a business guy, but I would rather be playing football."

Forsett took over the starting duties when Ray Rice was released by the team and Bernard Pierce struggled with injuries.

The Ravens must be glad that the former California Golden Bear didn't pursue other avenues. Forsett is averaging a stunning 5.8 yards per carry through four games this season.
