Bears sign Darryl Sharpton

The Chicago Bears have signed linebacker Darryl Sharpton to a one-year contract, the team announced Thursday.

A former fourth-round pick of the Houston Texans, Sharpton spent the past three seasons working under Bears linebackers coach Reggie Herring. He has 92 tackles and one sack in 42 career games.

The make room for Sharpton on the active roster, the Bears released fullback Tony Fiammetta with an injury settlement.
