Here's what you need to know:

  • After losing Ryan Mathews to an MCL sprain last week, the Chargers' run game took another hit when running back Danny Woodhead was carted off on the team's opening drive with a right ankle injury. He did not return.
  • Without Woodhead, the bulk of the workload fell to Donald Brown, who carried the ball 31 times for 62 yards, adding five receptions for 27 yards.
  • Speaking of the ground game, the Bills plodded their way to 87 combined yards between running backs C.J. Spiller (25), Fred Jackson (34) and quarterback E.J. Manuel (24).
  • The Chargers' passing attack had no trouble with the Bills defense. Wide receiver Eddie Royal found the end zone twice (on a three-yard touchdown in the first quarter and a five-yard score in the third), and Malcom Floyd hauled in two 49-yard catches for 98 total yards on four targets.
  • San Diego head coach Mike McCoy acknowledged he was proud of the team for picking up a win after a cross-country trip.
