Report: Chiefs' Charles dealing with ankle bruise, will be game-time decision Sunday

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

Listed as questionable throughout the week of practice, Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles will be a game-time decision Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, according to NFL Network.

Charles' injury, initially deemed a high ankle sprain, has turned out to be more of an ankle bruise, per the report. While his status remains up in the air, the diagnosis certainly gives him a better chance to play Sunday, although it remains unlikely:

Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reports that Charles is "still hurting" on Sunday morning, and that head coach Andy Reid wants Charles to show he "can protect himself 100 percent".

Glazer says the plan is for Charles to sit out unless he is able to convince the Chiefs that he "can be full go".
