Cowboys' McClain doubtful for Sunday

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Rolando McClain was held out of practice for a third consecutive day Friday with a groin injury and is considered doubtful to play Sunday against the St. Louis Rams.

"You'll miss him," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said during an appearance on 105.3 The Fan. "On the other hand, I think you could expect him probably not to play, but he won't tell you that. We're not for sure when he had this injury. He might have had it early in the game. You listen to him, he wants to play and thinks he might play. But we have him as doubtful, of course."

If McClain is unable to play, rookie Anthony Hitchens will likely get the start at middle linebacker, with Kyle Wilber at strongside linebacker and Bruce Carter on the weak side.
