Philadelphia Eagles running back Darren Sproles has been a great addition to the team, picking up 263 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns in his first two games with the team.

Sproles was a salary cap casualty in New Orleans after racking up over 5,500 yards and 21 touchdowns in three seasons with the Saints.

The move came as a surprise this offseason. Even Sproles was surprised by the move, especially since he found out about it on Twitter.

Sproles became aware of his impending release from the Saints via Twitter, he told Philadelphia Magazine

"They didn't call me and tell me nothing," Sproles said. "I just felt that it was disrespectful, you know what I'm saying? Y'all could have told me first."

Sproles contacted his agent upon learning the news, and word quickly spread throughout the league. Even the Eagles learned of the news through the media.

"There were a bunch of published reports and I think maybe even a Tweet from his family about how he was going to be let go in New Orleans, " said Eagles general manager Howie Roseman.

When the Saints realized how much interest there was in the Kansas State product, they elected to pursue a trade. Five teams were interested in acquiring Sproles's services, and the Eagles won the bidding war with a fifth-round pick.

Sproles is flying high in Philadelphia. The reigning NFC Offensive Player of the Week, Sproles sparked the Eagles' comeback victory over the Colts in Week 2 with a career-high 152 receiving yards.

Sproles says he never received an explanation from the Saints as to why things ended the way they did, but he's moved on.

"I just worry about the Eagles now," said Sproles. "I don't really care about it anymore. It all worked out for the best."
