Report: LaMichael James works out with Dolphins

Recently released running back LaMichael James worked out with the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday, according to ESPN's Field Yates.

James was granted his release by the San Francisco 49ers earlier in September after it was clear that he was firmly entrenched in the third spot on the team's depth chart behind Frank Gore and Carlos Hyde.

A second-round pick (61st overall) in 2012, James appeared in 10 games last season, rushing for 59 yards on 12 carries, while adding another 251 yards on 23 punt returns.
