Report: Adrian Peterson facing another child abuse accusation involving different son

Adrian Peterson is reportedly facing another child abuse accusation.

The Minnesota Vikings running back was indicted Friday for reckless or negligent injury to a child following an incident with his four-year-old son. He is now being accused of a separate incidence of abuse involving a different son (by a different mother), according to KHOU 11 News in Houston.

The television station obtained alleged text messages between Peterson and the boy's mother that describe Peterson allegedly punishing his son for cursing to a sibling.

Mother: "What happened to his head?"

Peterson: "Hit his head on the Carseat."

Mother: "How does that happen, he got a whoopin in the car."

Peterson: "Yep."

Mother: "Why?"

Peterson: "I felt so bad. But he did it his self."

Although no charges were ever filed, the mother did file a report with Child Protective Services. The results of any CPS investigation are as yet unknown.

The six-time Pro Bowler was activated by the Vikings on Monday, and is expected to suit up on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.
