Jamaal Charles: Diagnosed With Ankle Sprain

Chiefs coach Andy Reid said after Sunday's game that Charles suffered a sprained ankle, ESPN's Field Yates reports.

Analysis:

It's the obvious diagnosis for any ankle injury, and the real question is whether Charles suffered the dreaded high-ankle sprain. Ideally, the Chiefs will provide a more specific diagnosis, but it probably shouldn't be counted on. Knile Davis worked as the clear lead back in Charles' absence, piling up 79 rushing yards and pair of touchdowns on 22 carries. Cyrus Gray, the third-string back, got just two carries and no targets.
