Browns GM admits to having 'strong feelings' on timing, process of Josh Gordon suspension

The Cleveland Browns waited four months for the NFL to hand down its ruling in the case against Josh Gordon. After learning Wednesday that Gordon's one-year suspension for repeated drug violations has been upheld, Browns general manager Ray Farmer expressed discontent with the way the process played out.

"While we may have strong feelings on the timing and the process of this decision, we have also consistently communicated that we will focus on what we can control in our day-to-day approach," Farmer said in a statement issued by the team and reported by the Cleveland Plain Dealer

"Right now that is preparing our team for the 2014 season and, at the same time, supporting Josh however we are able under NFL guidelines during his suspension."

Gordon will not be permitted to practice with the Browns or attend team meetings during the duration of his suspension. It will be determined after the season when Gordon will be eligible to apply for reinstatement, a league spokesperson said.
