Report: There's a 'slight chance' a resolution exists between the NFL and Josh Gordon

With embattled Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon set to plead his case at a hearing on Friday in hopes of avoiding a potential year-long suspension, the possibility of a compromise reportedly still exists.

According to a report by Pro Football Talk, sources close to the situation believe there's a "slight chance" a resolution exists that would allow Gordon to sit out for less than a year.

If one side is less inclined to negotiate than the other, it’s possible that the hearing officer will send signals, indirect or explicit, that it would be wise for that party to be more open-minded.  Which could get a deal done during the hearing or after it.

The 23-year-old Pro Bowler has failed multiple drug tests thus far in his young NFL career, and was suspended two games last season after testing positive for codeine.
