Report: Ravens' Ray Rice not expected to appeal 2-game suspension

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice is reportedly not expected to appeal the two-game suspension handed down by the National Football League on Thursday.

"Per a league source, Initial indications are that Rice will not appeal the ruling," Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio reports.

Rice has the right to appeal the suspension he received for violating the league's personal conduct policy, as well as the one game check he will otherwise forfeit.

However, an appeal would be handled by commissioner Roger Goodell, who made the decision to suspend Rice in the first place, so the chances of having Rice's punishment reduced are small, according to Florio.

The running back has three days to appeal.
