The San Diego Chargers didn't necessarily get bigger with their first-round pick in the draft -  25th overall - but they certainly got more skilled.

Undersized cornerback Jason Verrett was the pick. At just 5-foot-9 and 190 pounds, Verrett doesn't look like the big, physical cornerback that's all the rage in the NFL today. He plays much, much bigger than his size, however.

A three-year starter at TCU after transferring from Santa Rosa Junior College, Verrett notched 41 passes defended and nine interceptions.

Some analysts project Verrett as a slot cornerback (an increasingly important role in today's pass-happy NFL), but others argue he has more than enough of the skill needed to play outside. With the Chargers lack of skilled cornerbacks, he'll likely be thrown to the fire on the outside right away.
