Saints' Ingram takes high road after Peterson signing

The New Orleans Saints added running back Adrian Peterson to their roster on Tuesday, and their incumbent rusher insists he's OK with the signing.

"I'm all about winning, man," Mark Ingram said to Herbie Teope of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

"If this will help us win, I'm all about winning. I'm all for it."

The Saints' acquisition of Peterson comes despite the fact Ingram broke the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the first time last season while playing in all 16 games and averaging 5.1 yards-per-carry.

The team's primary running back may now have to share that role with Peterson, but Ingram insists it's nothing he hasn't done before.

"Listen, man, it's nothing new," he said. "I've been sharing the ball with one or two, maybe three guys since I got here.

"I figured we were going to draft somebody or get somebody in free agency, still might, I figured that was going to happen, so it's not surprising to me. I don't care who comes in, where I'm at, who I'm playing with. I'm always going to compete."

Peterson was signed to a two-year deal. Ingram also has two years remaining on his contract with the Saints.
