The Kansas City Chiefs selected quarterback Patrick Mahomes out of Texas Tech with the 10th overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft after acquiring the selection from the Buffalo Bills.
It's a stunner, as the Chiefs had to move up all the way from 27th overall to find the successor to Alex Smith.
It cost a lot to make the move: The Bills will receive the Chiefs' first-round pick (27th overall) and third-round pick (91st overall) in 2017, as well as Kansas City's first-round pick in 2018.
Mahomes is an unorthodox quarterback, but is believed to have immense raw potential. Andy Reid's system appears to be an ideal one for him to learn in.
