McDermott: Bills will respond to Gillislee offer sheet in 'a few days'

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott is biding his time before making one of the first crucial decisions in his new role.

The New England Patriots signed running back Mike Gillislee to a two-year, $6.4-million offer sheet Tuesday, after he rushed for 5.7 yards per carry in his two seasons with the Bills, carving out a role as LeSean McCoy's backup.

The Bills have until Monday to match the Patriots' offer or allow Gillislee to join their vaunted divisional counterpart.

"Mike's a good player. We're in the process of evaluating the offer sheet and we'll have a decision in a few days," McDermott said during his press conference Thursday, according to the team.

New England certainly hasn't been complacent during the offseason, making numerous trades to bolster its roster. Adding Gillislee into a group that already boasts Dion Lewis and Super Bowl LI hero James White would be another coup for Bill Belichick and his staff.
