Report: Sherman involved in trade talks, will only accept move to contender

Richard Sherman will reportedly have significant say in any potential trade that would see him leave the Seattle Seahawks - and he has one important caveat that must be met if a deal is to happen.

The cornerback is involved with the Seahawks' trade effort, and will only cooperate if Seattle attempts to move him to a contender, Armando Salguero of The Miami Herald reported on "Pro Football Talk Live.

"Richard Sherman is talking to some people," Salguero said, according to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. "He wants to play in Super Bowls or have a chance to compete in Super Bowls, so he has some degree of leverage as to where this train goes."

Both Seahawks general manager John Schneider and Sherman have openly acknowledged that trade talks are ongoing, while also noting that a move isn't likely to happen.

Salguero, who reported Thursday that the Seahawks are looking for a "very good player plus a high draft pick" for Sherman, concurs that a potential deal is unlikely.

"I don't think it's going to happen because they want a mint for Richard Sherman," Salguero said.
