Browns' Corey Coleman: Expected to assume No. 1 receiver role

Head coach Hue Jackson expects Coleman to serve as the No. 1 receiver, Tony Grossi of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

The 15th overall pick in last year's draft, Coleman served as a complementary option in his rookie season, catching only 33 passes for 413 yards and three touchdowns (on 74 targets) in 10 games. He looked the part of a No. 1 receiver in Week 2 against the Ravens, but he suffered a broken hand in the ensuing week of practice, which subsequently held him out for six games. He never regained the momentum when he returned for the final eight games of the season, serving as a clear second fiddle to Terrelle Pryor, who then departed for Washington in free agency. While the team's quarterback situation remains unsettled, there's little question Coleman is expected to replace Pryor as the lead target, regardless of who's taking the snaps. Brock Osweiler, Cody Kessler, and Kevin Hogan are currently on the roster, but Cleveland's Week 1 starter could still be coming via the draft or free agency.
