Redskins' Brian Quick: Agrees to sign with Washington

Quick has agreed to terms on a contract with the Redskins, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.

Analysis:

Selected 33rd overall in the 2012 draft, Quick finally started living up to the Rams' expectations early in the 2014 campaign, only to suffer a severe shoulder injury after seven games. He struggled to bounce back from the injury and caught just 10 passes the following year, but he did re-emerge as a modest contributor last season, hauling in 41 of 79 targets for 564 yards and three touchdowns in 16 games. While Jamison Crowder and fellow free-agent signee Terrelle Pryor are locked in as key pieces in the Washington offense, Quick could get a chance to push 2016 first-rounder Josh Doctson (Achilles) for a spot in three-wide sets. The Redskins hope Doctson will bounce back from a lost rookie season and earn a leading role, but the 27-year-old Quick provides some form of insurance if that doesn't happen. The most likely scenario has Quick serving as the No. 4 wideout, providing an occasional big-play threat on limited snaps.
