Dolphins' Leonte Carroo: Faces difficult path to larger role

Carroo will have a tough time earning a larger role as he enters his second season, the Miami Herald reports.

Analysis:

The Dolphins made an aggressive trade to move up and select Carroo in the third round of last year's draft, despite already having fellow wideouts Jarvis Landry, DeVante Parker, and Kenny Stills on the roster. Stills was entering the final year of his contract after an ugly 2015 season, but he bounced back strong in 2016 and then re-signed with the team this offseason. Carroo is coming off a debut season in which he only caught three passes on 103 snaps and was ultimately dropped to the bottom of the depth chart behind fellow rookies Rashawn Scott and Jakeem Grant. Barring an injury to one of Miami's top-3 wideouts, Carroo likely will enter training camp competing with Scott and Grant for the No. 4 job.
