Giants' Darian Thompson: 'Very close' to full recovery

Thompson (foot) is "very close" to making a full recovery, 247 Sports reports.

Analysis:

Thompson, the Giants' 2016 third-round pick out of Boise State, played in just two games his rookie year before going down with a season-ending left foot sprain. With the start of offseason workouts less than a month away, it's great news for the Giants that he's nearing full form. Thompson had earned the starting gig at free safety out of training camp last summer and should enter the 2017 campaign in the same role if he can stay healthy.
