Cardinals sign former Steelers 1st-rounder Jarvis Jones

The Arizona Cardinals have signed free-agent pass-rusher Jarvis Jones, the team announced Tuesday.

Jones, a first-round pick in 2013, hit the open market March 9 after four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

After posting just six sacks in 50 games over that stretch, Arizona will be hoping that a fresh start can help Jones live up to his potential.

The 27-year-old would slot in as a rotational edge-defender behind starters Chandler Jones and Markus Golden. Depth at that spot became a priority for the Cardinals with the free-agent departure of Alex Okafor, who reportedly signed with the New Orleans Saints.
