Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph and general manager John Elway met with DeMarcus Ware on Tuesday, but the impending free-agent pass-rusher will likely test the market, according to Mike Klis of 9News.

The team is known to have interest in bringing Ware back with a new deal, so it's possible that the two sides getting together at the beginning of the NFL's legal negotiating period ends up being a step in that direction.

If Ware does hit the market as expected, the Broncos will monitor the situation, per Klis' report.

When healthy, Ware showed over his three seasons in Denver that he still has plenty left to offer.

The Broncos looking to bring him back makes sense from both a leadership and production perspective, but they could also face some competition for his services on the open market.

A previous report suggested that Ware was eyeing a return to the Dallas Cowboys, the team with which he played for nine seasons before moving on to join the Broncos.

The 34-year-old is coming off a 2016 campaign where injuries limited him to 10 games and just four sacks.
