Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones is expected to be back to full health for training camp after undergoing surgery to remove a bunion on his foot Monday, ESPN's Vaughn McClure reports.
Jones is expected to take four-to-five months to recover from the operation, the Falcons announced. The superstar tweeted that the surgery went well and thanked his fans for their support:
Jones played through numerous foot injuries during the 2016 season, missing two games due to a toe ailment. However, he was largely undeterred, recording 83 receptions for 1,409 yards and six touchdowns.
The 28-year-old remained a formidable force during the playoffs, leading the Falcons to an appearance in Super Bowl LI against the New England Patriots.
