Patrick Mahomes certainly isn't lacking confidence as he continues to vie for first-round consideration.

Mahomes, who set two single-game passing records during his career at Texas Tech, is ascending through draft boards while attending the NFL combine.

The 21-year-old provided a candid appraisal of his abilities Friday.

"I feel like I'm going to be one of the best quarterbacks in this class, if not the best," Mahomes said via Chris Emma of CBS Chicago.

Mahomes also told reporters that he wouldn't mind learning behind a veteran quarterback during the first two years of his career, showing particular reverence toward Drew Brees.

In a class that features Mitch Trubisky, Deshaun Watson, and DeShone Kizer, Mahomes' self-evaluation may ring prophetic by the start of the 2017 season.
