Roddy White 'literally would've fought' Kyle Shanahan for SB play-calling

Roddy White made it clear when he was released by the Atlanta Falcons last offseason that he wasn't a fan of then-offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, and it appears the ill feeling has only gotten worse since Super Bowl LI.

The former wide receiver, along with the rest of the NFL world, watched as the Falcons blew a 25-point lead to the New England Patriots, and White places the blame almost entirely on Shanahan's shoulders.

"I'm glad I wasn't a part of that team because I probably literally would’ve fought him," White said about Shanahan on the 'We Never Played the Game' podcast, according to Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Jeff Schultz.

Shanahan's play-calling in the second half of the Super Bowl has received almost universal criticism. He opted not to run the ball with the Falcons in field goal range late in the fourth quarter, and after a key sack and holding penalty, Atlanta punted and allowed New England a shot at tying the game.

"You destroyed a dream for a city," White said. "It's bigger than me. The city of Atlanta needed that championship and you had it. (Falcons owner) Arthur Blank needed that championship and he deserved to win that game, with everything he's been through. It was finally our time to win and it just hurt me that we didn't get it done."

To make matters worse for White, he bet $40,000 on his former team to win its first championship in franchise history.
